Oasis getting back together and appearing on stage over the past five nights in their home city of Manchester has been nothing short of incredible – that we can all agree.<\/p>\n

But for some, the lasting memory of these epic Heaton Park<\/a> homecoming shows won’t be Liam and Noel hugging on stage, or and 80,000 strong crowd doing the Poznan, but the story of the ticketless fans who made the pilgrimage up to the now infamous Gallagher Hill<\/a>.<\/p>\n

During the first of their reunion gigs back at Heaton Park, ticketless fans could see a small portion of the screens inside the arena<\/a>, allowing them to catch a glimpse of their idols.<\/p>\n

However, following the first run of shows, Manchester Council fenced off a section of the hill, obscuring the view of the stage set up. But that has done little to deter the ticketless.<\/a><\/p>\n

Following the move, many took to social media to voice their discontent at missing out on what is seen as a once in a lifetime experience.<\/p>\n

On Facebook, one MEN reader said: “I mean, what was the harm of folk standing outside listening? They weren’t causing any harm or owt!”<\/p>\n

Another added: “People will still jump it, it will be like derby day on Saturday”. While one reader put it simply, stating: “Gatekeeping at its finest.”<\/p>\n

Choosing not to be deterred though, thousands have still headed up for each show and last night, in a particularly poignant moment during the penultimate show<\/a>, a sea of Oasis fans standing shoulder-to-shoulder, sung their hearts out and swayed to the chorus of Don’t Look Back in Anger emanating from across the park.<\/p>\n

Several thousand Oasis fans camped on Gallagher Hill earlier in the day, many of whom brought picnics, deckchairs and their families to the gathering.<\/p>\n

It’s the same deal this evening too, as fans make the most of the last opportunity for hilltop antics – but there’s a little something extra for those who have made it up there.<\/p>\n

Pictures taken up on the hill show fans congregating ahead of Oasis who will play in just over an hours time, and while many are donning bucket hats and anoraks, a number are also sporting some new merch – Gallagher Hill t-shirts.<\/p>\n

According to sources on Twitter, the t-shirts, which have been designed to mimic the Oasis black and white logo, are being given out for free up on the hill.<\/p>\n

The Manchester Evening News has also been told that an “official” merchandise buggy pulled up not long ago and was handing out the t-shirts and welcomed people to the much-loved viewpoint.<\/p>\n

However, security told a member of public that only 1,000 had been printed.<\/p>\n
