There was another touching moment when the Sovereign Prince appeared overwhelmed by emotion as he hugged his heir, Prince Jacques, and second in  line to the throne, Princess Gabriella.<\/p>\n<p>Princess Charlene led the applause for her husband and embraced him warmly as the celebrations continued.<\/p>\n<p>She was also at the front of the cheers as a <a href=\"https:\/\/royalcentral.co.uk\/royal-news\/princess-charlene-celebrations-212422\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">huge cake was brought out to mark the special anniversary<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The multi tiered spectacular was covered in red and white macarons, a nod to the colours of Monaco\u2019s flag. Albert took the first taste before it was shared among the many people who had come along to party.<\/p>\n<p>    <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Four-Polaroid-Frame-Christmas-Holiday-Canvas-1024x1024.png\" alt=\"Prince Albert and Princess Charlene lead celebrations for the 20th anniversary of his reign in Monaco\" class=\"wp-image-212425\"  \/>Prince\u2019s Palace Instagram still\/ fair use   <\/p>\n<p>Albert, Charlene and their children met many of them as they spent a long time shaking hands and chatting with the crowds that had gathered for the celebations.<\/p>\n<p>Albert became Prince of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/palaisprincierdemonaco\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Monaco <\/a>in April 2005 on the death of his father, Prince Rainier III.
