\n\tArcher recently decided to take her Instagram<\/a> page public after years of keeping her personal life off the radar. Now that she\u2019s launching a new private consultancy business, she decided to make her page public, which meant her follow list also became open to anyone on the platform.<\/p>\n

\n\tInternet sleuths spotted curious clues that Archer watched Meghan Markle<\/a>\u2018s pages very carefully, including her As Ever brand, What Meghan Wore, makeup artist Daniel Martin, and even the Duchess of Sussex\u2019s bestie and Suits co-star Abigail Spencer. It\u2019s what palace expert Amanda Matta described as \u201cold-school, fun royal fashion<\/a> drama\u201d on her TikTok account<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tThat is, until Archer started \u201cclearing house\u201d so that there was no affiliation to Meghan. Matta noted that some Kate critics find it to be the \u201csmoking gun\u201d<\/a> that \u201cKensington Palace was taking style cues from Meghan\u201d after she joined the royal family<\/a>. Kate has definitely elevated her fashion in the last few years, and perhaps Archer found some of Meghan\u2019s monochromatic, clean-line choices to also be fitting silhouettes for the Princess of Wales.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Daily Mail<\/a> credited Archer for taking Kate from the \u201cgirl-next-door\u201d to a \u201cstylish\u201d princess in 2014. \u201cNatasha and Kate get on very well. She has always supported and advised Kate<\/a> \u2013 and the Duchess loves Natasha\u2019s style, so it seemed like an obvious appointment,\u201d a source told the media outlet over a decade ago. \u201cNatasha has been helping Kate pick outfits for the tour.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tNo matter what the Princess of Wales wore, it always made headlines and created sellouts for designers \u2014 it was dubbed the \u201cKate Effect.\u201d When Meghan joined the royal ranks, the press often pitted the women\u2019s style against each other, but they were two women with different fashion choices. Kate was more traditional while the Duchess of Sussex preferred contemporary, sleek designs<\/a> \u2014 and they\u2019ve both taken fashion cues from each other when they were at the palace.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe social media discovery feels like a \u201cgotcha\u201d moment to some royal critics, but it\u2019s likely more of a realization that fashion inspo comes from many different places, including the Duchess of Sussex.<\/p>\n
