Sheffield United are reportedly interested in signing Icelandic starlet Daniel Gudjohnsen.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 19-year-old is the son of Eidur Gudjohnsen, a former forward who notably played for Chelsea<\/a> and Barcelona.<\/p>\n

Daniel had stints in the academies at Barca<\/a> and Real Madrid, and now plays for Swedish side Malmo.<\/p>\n

However, a Championship move could be on the horizon as Sheffield United<\/a> explore a summer transfer.<\/p>\n

The Sun report that they scouted the young forward<\/a> during their Champions League qualifying match against Georgian club FC Iberia 1999 last week.<\/p>\n

England is said to be a favoured destination for the Iceland U19 star, who has scored four goals in 18 appearances for Malmo.<\/p>\n

Of the four goals, three of them came in a 5-2 Svenska Cup second round win over Torslanda IK last season.<\/p>\n

Daniel has two brothers, Sveinn Aron Gudjohnsen and Andri Gudjohnsen, with the pair also footballers at a professional level.<\/p>\n

The former features for Norwegian outfit Sarpsborg 08 FF, whilst the latter is at Gent in Belgium.<\/p>\n

Their father Eidur’s career began at Valur in Iceland before he moved to the Netherlands to sign with PSV Eindhoven.<\/p>\n

A move to England came in 1998 at Bolton Wanderers before Chelsea brought him to Stamford Bridge two years later.<\/p>\n

Gudjohnsen won two Premier League titles and the League Cup with the Blues, scoring 78 goals across 263 outings in west London.<\/p>\n

Gudjohnsen was a Chelsea player for six years, his final two seasons under Jose MourinhoCredit: Getty<\/p>\n

He then left for Barcelona to win LaLiga and the Champions League alongside the Copa del Rey, Supercopa de Espana and Super Cup.<\/p>\n

Tottenham, Stoke City and Fulham are three other English sides on his CV before his return to Bolton in 2014.<\/p>\n

The now 46-year-old last played for Indian Super League side FC Pune City and retired in September 2017.<\/p>\n

Gudjohnsen took up a coaching career after his playing days with assistant roles for the Iceland senior and U21 teams.<\/p>\n
