This is particularly true considering William has been pretty open about his desire to modernize the institution before.<\/p>\n<p>Now there are reports that <a href=\"https:\/\/stylecaster.com\/t\/princess-anne\/\" id=\"auto-tag_princess-anne\" data-tag=\"princess-anne\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Princess Anne<\/a>, widely regarded as perhaps the hardest-working royal, is not so happy with her nephew. According to\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thetimes.com\/uk\/royal-family\/article\/princess-anne-birthday-75-pdnvsf539\">The Sunday Times<\/a>, the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/stylecaster.com\/entertainment\/celebrity-news\/1234839966\/princess-anne-hair\/\">Princess Royal<\/a> is reportedly \u201cannoyed\u201d that William has not taken on more investiture ceremonies at Windsor Castle. It annoys her.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Last year,\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/stylecaster.com\/entertainment\/celebrity-news\/1234824485\/princess-anne-king-charles-prince-harry\/\">Princess Anne<\/a>\u00a0outnumbered every working royal when it came to royal engagements. She undertook 474 engagements. Meanwhile, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/stylecaster.com\/entertainment\/celebrity-news\/1234835724\/princess-anne-king-charles-cancer\/\">King Charles<\/a>\u00a0had 372 engagements, and Prince Edward carried out 293 visits.<\/p>\n<p>Despite this annoyance, reports indicate Princess Anne is overall very fond of William and supportive of him. She is also said to admire his commitment to modernizing the monarchy. And William and Kate reportedly have a lot of affection for her back. Recently, after she returned to her duties after an accident, William and Kate shared a message for her: \u201cSuper trooper! So great to see you back so soon! W &amp; C x\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>This all comes as reports indicate William will \u201coverhaul\u201d the monarchy once he becomes <a href=\"https:\/\/stylecaster.com\/entertainment\/celebrity-news\/1234842357\/charles-highgrove-gardens\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">King<\/a>. According to the\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thetimes.com\/uk\/royal-family\/article\/how-prince-william-will-reign-king-0zd3jcgv3\">Times,<\/a>\u00a0he will make the coronation service \u201cmuch simpler.\u201d This has to do with William being \u201cmindful of how much the monarchy costs\u201d and how the optics of those costs reflect on the royal family in general. \u201cHe wants to make sure the whole thing has even more impact and remains relevant,\u201d a friend told the outlet, and not giving an impression of overspending is very important to those plans.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe has been thinking about the future for years, and he knows that what his grandmother did and what his father does is an evolution,\u201d Jason Knauf, CEO of Prince William\u2019s\u00a0Earthshot Prize, explained. \u201cThere are traditions and things that won\u2019t change, but this thinking about the next [role] is how is this going to be reflective of him?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Whatever happens next for William and the monarchy, it\u2019s likely Princess Anne will continue to be heavily involved. She said in an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/articles\/c87d34rq541o\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">interview<\/a>\u00a0with the\u00a0Press Association, \u201cI don\u2019t think there\u2019s a retirement program on this particular life. It really isn\u2019t written in, no. It isn\u2019t really an option, no, I don\u2019t think so.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>All these conversations are being had now because of King Charles\u2019 illness. British broadcaster and photographer Helena Chard told\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/entertainment\/prince-williams-absence-king-charles-prince-harrys-peace-summit-could-warning-shot-expert\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Fox News Digital<\/a>. \u201cKing Charles is living with cancer, which makes his family situation very sad,\u201d Chard said about his feud with his son, Harry. \u201cI\u2019m sure he is thinking about his mortality and reevaluating his life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Whether that pushes the royal family closer to reconciliation or not remains to be seen.
