A man has appeared in court after an attempted murder<\/a> bid on a police officer outside a shop.<\/p>\n

Dominic Gallagher, from Clydebank, was in the dock at Paisley Sheriff Court charged with three counts of attempted murder<\/a>, having an offensive weapon, vandalism and resisting arrest.<\/p>\n

The 52-year-old made<\/a> no plea when he appeared in court on Monday, July 21. The case was committed for further examination and Gallagher was granted bail. His next court appearance<\/a> is yet to be confirmed.<\/p>\n

Emergency services raced to a licensed premises<\/a> on Glasgow Road in the West Dunbartonshire town at around 9.25pm on Friday, July 18, after reports of a man with a weapon outside. No-one was injured in the incident.<\/p>\n

Detective Inspector Kevin Mulvenna previously said: \u201cExtensive enquiries are ongoing<\/a>, and I would ask anyone who was in the area around this time to contact us. “In addition, we believe that the incident<\/a> has been captured by members of the public who were there at the time and I would urge them to get in touch and share this footage with us. Anyone with information should contact<\/a> Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident 3915 of 18 July.<\/p>\n
