Reconciliation between King Charles and Prince Harry<\/a> isn\u2019t a given, but there\u2019s no denying that the two have finally taken steps towards that possibility. Not so long ago, there was a meeting between aides from both camps, and recent reports indicate that Prince Harry is inviting his family to the next Invictus Games<\/a> and that he wants Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and their kids to be involved in his funeral. So, that\u2019s all positive.<\/p>\n

But that doesn\u2019t mean reconciliation is a given, or that everyone agrees. Prince William<\/a>\u2019s aides were reportedly not present in the meeting, and the fact that there hasn\u2019t been any other public gesture likely means everyone is taking it slowly. \u00a0British royals expert Hilary Fordwich\u00a0told Fox News Digital<\/a> that the King wasn\u2019t fully convinced yet. But, however, he was willing to go along with it.<\/p>\n

\u201cKing Charles, while cautious and wary, might attend the Invictus Games,\u201d Fordwich said. \u201cBut of course, he prefers all private matters to remain private. In addition, there are many conflicts with the royal schedule, let alone Queen Camilla\u2019s 80th birthday during the games.\u201d<\/p>\n

She also added, \u201cFor Harry<\/a>, it\u2019s about what he can gain, while, for the royals, it\u2019s about what they have to lose,\u201d Fordwich claimed. \u201cHarry wants to be included.\u00a0He misses not only the U.K.\u00a0but many aspects of royal privileges. However, he hasn\u2019t been successful in any of his endeavors. For the royals, more disclosures and scandals are concerning. They simply don\u2019t need\u2026 Harry around, particularly not Prince William, who is resolute regarding any reconciliation being a huge mistake.\u201d<\/p>\n

This seems to corroborate previous reports that while King Charles might be eager for a reconciliation, William is not so sure. And that means he likely won\u2019t attend the Invictus Games, even if invited. Princess Diana\u2019s former butler,\u00a0Paul Burrell, told\u00a0Express.co.uk<\/a>, \u201cI think that\u00a0The King\u00a0and the Prince of Wales have enough charity events to go to, so I think they wouldn\u2019t have to go to the\u00a0Invictus Games.\u201d He added, \u201cThis is\u00a0Harry\u2019s baby, not The King\u2019s and not William\u2019s. I think they shouldn\u2019t go to support Harry in this venture. This is Harry\u2019s concern, not theirs.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cA public show of support, at this time, is probably not on the cards. I doubt whether William would\u00a0embrace Harry in public\u00a0at this moment in time, or even ever again,\u201d he also said.<\/p>\n

The Mail on Sunday<\/a>\u00a0reported that Prince Harry was \u201chopeful\u201d his family would attend the next Invictus Games, which will take place in 2027 in the UK. \u201cHarry has agreed that Invictus should extend an invitation to his family,\u201d a source told the publication. \u201cInvictus hopes the Royal Family will come along to support the wounded veterans taking part.\u201d<\/p>\n

Considering the Invictus Games are still years away, a lot could happen before then. Whether that is a full reconciliation between King Charles<\/a> and Prince Harry, one that can be showcased at the games, will be something to keep an eye on. And though it feels like a long shot at this time, there\u2019s enough time for even Prince Harry and Prince William to make up before then.<\/p>\n
