Picture: Ian Scammell<\/p>\n<p>Born in Harare, Zimbabwe, Muyeye is the second-highest run scorer in this summer\u2019s T20 Vitality Blast, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kentonline.co.uk\/canterbury\/sport\/kent-reach-blast-quarter-finals-in-dramatic-style-327439\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">having helped Spitfires book a quarter-final berth last week<\/a>, after getting his first career T20 ton <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kentonline.co.uk\/canterbury\/sport\/tawanda-and-parkinson-shine-in-kent-s-win-at-essex-326096\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in last month\u2019s win against Essex at Chelmsford.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The news of Muyeye\u2019s new contract was released by Kent on Monday, with it having been announced on the same day <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kentonline.co.uk\/canterbury\/sport\/gilchrist-to-make-kent-departure-327501\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">that close friend Nathan Gilchrist will leave at the end of this season for Warwickshire.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>There had also been speculation Muyeye would depart for a top-tier red-ball county but, instead, he will be around for a little while longer yet.<\/p>\n<p>Muyeye, who will be with defending champions Oval Invincibles at The Hundred competition next month, said: \u201cThis club is now my home and I\u2019m delighted to commit my future to Kent.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEver since I arrived here, I\u2019ve been so grateful for the support that my team-mates, coaches and the Kent supporters have given me.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"rthmb\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg xmlns=\" http:=\"\" viewbox=\"0 0 898 752\" alt=\"Tawanda Muyeye - is the second-highest run scorer in this summer&#x2019;s T20 Vitality Blast.
