Huddersfield Town are having a very ambitious summer.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lee Grant is pushing for the League One title<\/a> in 2025\/26, and after missing out on the play-offs last season, they are making moves in the transfer market in preparation for the new campaign.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s just over a week to go until the third and fourth tiers get underway, with Huddersfield<\/a> facing Leyton Orient<\/a> at home on 2 August and there is hope that another new face could come through the doors at the John Smith\u2019s Stadium before then.<\/p>\n

Lynden Gooch has already signed for the Terriers<\/a>, while Alfie May could soon be joining Grant in West Yorkshire<\/a>. However, he is not the only Birmingham City<\/a> man who could be wearing blue-and-white stripes in League One soon.<\/p>\n

Huddersfield Town pursue deal for Marc Leonard<\/p>\n

Blues had a record-breaking campaign in 2024\/25<\/a>, but they are strengthening quickly this summer leaving the likes of Marc Leonard in an awkward position.<\/p>\n

After playing 35 times in League One last season, the Scottish midfielder is finding himself further down the pecking order at St. Andrew\u2019s this summer and according to Pete O\u2019Rourke<\/a>, Huddersfield are looking to secure a deal for him.<\/p>\n

The 23-year-old has plenty of potential and Chris Davies may be keen to keep hold of him for this reason alone, but with Birmingham\u2019s ambitions, he could be left behind in the next few years.<\/p>\n

Leonard only joined Blues from Brighton & Hove Albion 12 months ago, but the Terriers are working hard to create a team that has the ability to somewhat replicate the West Midlands outfit\u2019s success last time out.<\/p>\n

Marc Leonard is the perfect signing for the Terriers<\/p>\n

Huddersfield fans have had concerns about the transfer policy<\/a> at points this summer, with a focus on strengthening the defence clear to see in the early stages of the transfer window.<\/p>\n

However, Leonard is the perfect player to come in and fill the midfield after a season where the Terriers lacked creativity at times.<\/p>\n

He registered four assists for Birmingham in 2024\/25, while he scored five goals and picked up six assists the campaign prior to that with Northampton Town<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Playing Leonard in a more advanced role than the holding position that he did for will allow him to be more of a threat in the final third, and Grant may have picked out the perfect player to help guarantee a top six finish at the very least.<\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Huddersfield Town are having a very ambitious summer.
