There\u2019s not been much cause for celebration around Sheffield Wednesday this summer, but the Owls did just take one positive step.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Financial chaos. Failed takeover bids. Managerial U-turns. It\u2019s all been going on at Sheffield Wednesday<\/a> right now, and fans are really suffering.<\/p>\n

With Dejphon Chansiri<\/a> failing to make payments on time, the Owls are under a transfer embargo and facing further punishments<\/a> before the season begins.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s also great uncertainty around Danny Rohl\u2019s future, with the Wednesday manager expected to be relieved of his duties<\/a> soon.<\/p>\n

But, as pre-season preparations continue, Owls fans do at least have one shred of positivity to cling to this week thanks to an impressive victory on the pitch.<\/p>\n

So far this summer, makeshift Sheffield Wednesday sides have fallen to 3-1 defeats against both Stocksbridge Park Steels and Lincoln United.<\/p>\n

Admittedly, the squads for those games were made up of Sheffield Wednesday youngsters<\/a>. Still, the fact they couldn\u2019t get a result against Non-League opposition was cause for concern.<\/p>\n

However, the Owls have now finally picked up their first win in pre-season, bagging a 3-0 victory over York City.<\/p>\n

Led to believe that it was Svante Ingelsson, Sean Fusire and Reece Johnson who got the goals as #SWFC<\/a> beat York City 3-0 over the weekend\u2026<\/p>\n

As per Joe Crann, the goals came from established first-team star Svante Ingelsson, promising youth prospect Sean Fusire, and fellow Under-21 starlet Reece Johnson.<\/p>\n

Obviously, there\u2019s the caveat that this is a friendly against a team in the National League, but given the current situation at Sheffield Wednesday, a win\u2019s a win.<\/p>\n

With the number of players departing Hillsborough this summer, putting together a Sheffield Wednesday XI<\/a> for the start of the season could be a challenge.<\/p>\n

However, it may well work in Svante Ingelsson\u2019s favour. Danny Rohl previously discussed Ingelsson and suggested it may take some time for him to settle in England<\/a> and reach his peak levels. <\/p>\n

With a season already under his belt and less competition for places, we could see Ingelsson become a key figure for the Owls in 2025\/26. Wednesday could do far worse than to lean on the hard-working, athletic, creative midfielder, that\u2019s for sure.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
