Crystal Palace know that the summer transfer window<\/a> represents their final chance to cash in on Marc Guehi \u2013 and their stance plays into the hands of Liverpool<\/a>.<\/p>\n Guehi has entered the final 12 months of his current contract with Palace and has made it clear that he won\u2019t sign a new one. The England defender has attracted interest from rival Premier League<\/a> sides for some time and could finally leave the south London club.<\/p>\n Newcastle<\/a> pushed hard to try and sign Guehi last summer, but ultimately backed out because they were unwilling to pay Palace\u2019s \u00a370million asking price<\/a>. With his contract expiring in less than a year, Palace have reduced their valuation, but only to around \u00a350m.<\/p>\n Liverpool<\/a> are not the only interested party, with Mirror Football reporting on Monday<\/a> that Tottenham<\/a> have made it clear they are also in the running. The Athletic report David Ornstein has given an update on the situation from a Palace perspective, suggesting they are ready to \u201ccash in\u201d.<\/p>\n He told Sky <\/a>Sports News<\/a>: \u201cWe know Liverpool are keen on him at the right price. Reports today suggest Tottenham, who made a bid for him in January, don\u2019t forget, are still in the mix too.<\/p>\n \u201cI think Palace would be looking to cash in rather than face losing him for free next summer, but he\u2019s got the power in his hands. He\u2019s very happy at Crystal Palace<\/a>, by the sounds of it, and I don\u2019t think he\u2019d be afraid to go to the end of his deal. It doesn\u2019t seem like a new contract is on the agenda.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd I think Marc Guehi, with total respect to Crystal Palace, is going to be playing at the very top of Champions League<\/a> football, whether it\u2019s sooner or later, and so, yeah, you suspect this is going to be one of the stories of the upcoming weeks of the transfer window.\u201d<\/p>\n Liverpool are in the market for a centre-back after selling Jarell Quansah to Bayer Leverkusen for \u00a335m this summer.
