Later, lawmakers said there were no plans to return at all.<\/p>\n<p>That means House members will depart for August recess at the week\u2019s end without being able to vote on legislation that would not otherwise be able to pass on the chamber floor with a simple majority vote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSee you in September,\u201d said Rules Committee ranking member <strong class=\"dcr-in3yi3\">Jim McGovern<\/strong> (D-Mass.). Deputy attorney general <strong>Todd Blanche<\/strong> said that he intends to meet with Maxswell \u201cin the coming days\u201d with the aim of finding out if she has any \u201cinformation about anyone who has committed crimes against victims\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\">He wrote <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/DAGToddBlanche\/status\/1947623916538617946\" data-link-name=\"in body link\">on X<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote data-spacefinder-role=\"inline\" class=\"dcr-154zxly\">\n<p>Justice demands courage.
