Canelo Alvarez<\/a> and Terence Crawford<\/a> are less than two months away from their monumental showdown.<\/p>\n

The pound-for-pound greats are set to do battle in a \u2018mega-fight\u2019 on Saturday September 13<\/a> at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.<\/p>\n

Mexican icon Canelo will defend his undisputed super-middleweight championship against the unbeaten American, having began his second reign as champion on May 3 when he defeated former IBF champion William Scull.<\/p>\n

\u2018Bud\u2019 Crawford is preparing to make his very first appearance at 168lbs<\/a>, having spent almost the entirety of his professional career campaigning at welterweight, where he became the undisputed champion with a victory over Errol Spence Jr in July 2023.<\/p>\n

Speaking to MillCity Boxing<\/a>, former two-time world welterweight champion Keith Thurman revealed that he has actually reached out to Crawford recently and informed the 37-year-old he would be willing to replace Canelo should he end up pulling out of the fight for any reason.<\/p>\n

Thurman made his long-awaited return to the ring in March after a three-year hiatus, stopping Australia\u2019s Brock Jarvis in the third round of their bout in Sydney.
