Alfie May claims he sees similarities in Huddersfield Town\u2019s League One ambitions to the ones he was able to help fulfil at Birmingham City.<\/a><\/p>\n

The striker ended his Blues career after just one season at the club on Tuesday, when he signed a three-year deal with the Terriers.<\/a><\/p>\n

Having so looked forward to playing in the Championship for the first time in his career, the 32-year-old is now preparing for another season in the third tier.<\/a><\/p>\n

It could hardly got any better than his last, when he scored 17 goals and played 57 games as part of a Blues team which romped to the title in record-breaking fashion.<\/p>\n

And speaking to the Huddersfield website<\/a>, 12 months on nearly joining them from Charlton Athletic, the forward drew a comparison between the situations.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s no secret that this is a club that I\u2019ve come close to joining in the past, and I\u2019m really pleased the opportunity has come again to become a Town player,\u201d May said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a huge club with massive ambition, and that\u2019s all any player wants to feel a part of. I was in a team last season that felt similarly, so I know what\u2019s possible when a squad clicks with a manager and there\u2019s a positive feeling across the whole club, and that\u2019s something I recognise here.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy job is to work as hard as possible and score goals, and I\u2019ll do everything in my power to repay the faith the club has shown in me. Lee Grant is an exciting manager and the way he wants to play and attack feels like the right fit for me, so I can\u2019t wait to get going.\u201d<\/p>\n
