A curry house in Bristol has been named among the best in the UK. Achari Indian Kitchen, located on Cotham Hill, is among the ‘Top 100 Asian Restaurant <\/a>Winners 2025′.<\/p>\n The category is part of the Asian Catering Federation\u2019s Oriental Chefs Competition & Awards, with the winners named at an official ceremony at the House of Lords in London.<\/p>\n Achari has been a staple of Bristol’s foodie<\/a> scene since 1992, when it first opened as Indian Ocean. In a post to its Instagram page on Friday, the team shared a series of photos from the event and said: “This is how the event for the Top 100 Asian Restaurants 2025-2026 went! We met some amazing people, the vibes were awesome and the food was great!<\/p>\n “This wouldn\u2019t be possible without our Achari family, thank you guys!” The popular spot is no stranger to awards and recognition.<\/p>\n BristolLive reported back in 2024<\/a> that the restaurant had won not one but two awards at the Asian Curry Awards<\/a>. At the time, it was awarded the title of Best Restaurant and chef Kamrul Islam received the Best Asian Chef Award at the national awards ceremony, also held in London.<\/p>\n And before that, the restaurant was also recognised at the BCA Awards (Bangladeshi Catering Association)<\/a>, winning the gongs for Best Restaurant and Best Chef there, too.<\/p>\n Content cannot be displayed without consent<\/p>\n Serving up a vast menu of dishes – with favourite curries including korma, tikka masala, bhuna, korahi, rogan Josh, madras, jalfrezi, vindaloo and more – the restaurant boasts a 4.9 star rating on Google, with some 2,700 reviews to its name at time of writing.<\/p>\n One reviewer posting two weeks ago said: “Had an absolute blast here! Very welcoming, attentive but not pushy staff, great atmosphere and just fantastic food, and all quite affordable (curry mains for around 10 quid)!<\/p>\n “We had lots of different things – the best dhansak I’ve ever had in my life, with such thick and textured lentils, some excellent lamb curry, and some lovely veggie things. My food review criteria is always would I pay money to have exactly the same meal again, and the answer here is YES, absolutely. What a gem.”<\/p>\n While another, visiting some months ago, said: “Top marks to Achari Indian Kitchen! If you’re ever around some of the charming spots in Bristol like Clifton or Cotham<\/a> and you enjoy delicious Indian food<\/a>, then Achari is the place for you.<\/p>\n “Great, friendly and warm service from the staff and everything tastes home made and fresh. You can tell this by the time to cook the dishes, the kind of heat of the food and of course the taste.
