That\u2019s another Celtic transfer target wiped off the list. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Louie Barry is a highly-rated player at Aston Villa<\/a>, and he has been linked with several clubs during the 2025 summer transfer window<\/a>. <\/p>\n

With Brendan Rodgers looking for more goals and that much-needed forward, Barry was being looked at by Celtic<\/a>.<\/p>\n

But the versatile forward has now opted to return to England\u2019s second tier. <\/p>\n

Barry was on loan at League One side Stockport County last season, and his strong form saw Villa recall him in the winter, and that\u2019s when the Celtic<\/a> links started. <\/p>\n

Of course, at the time, Kyogo Furuhashi had just left Celtic<\/a>, and Barry was someone who could play a central role, but a move to Glasgow didn\u2019t materialise, and instead, he joined Hull City.<\/p>\n

Well, over the summer, Hull\u2019s manager Ruben Selles was snapped up by Sheffield United, after they sacked Chris Wilder, and he hasn\u2019t wasted any time in bringing the former Barcelona player on board on a season-long loan deal.<\/p>\n

Barry on why he has joined Sheffield United after Celtic interest<\/p>\n

It would have been great to see Barry in Celtic colours<\/a>, as well as watching him progress and perform under a manager like Rodgers.<\/p>\n

But his next test is trying to get Sheffield United to the Premier League, and he shared the reason for joining the Yorkshire outfit. <\/p>\n

Barry<\/a> noted how Selles\u2019 attack-minded style of play is \u2018exactly what I stand for as a player.\u2019<\/p>\n

Barry told Sheffield United\u2019s official website: \u201cThe first time I had conversations about it, I just couldn\u2019t wait to come here. The season is three weeks away, and I know we have a couple of friendlies before, but I am just buzzing to get started.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been at Villa, playing games, training and working hard just for whatever will come next. As I say, when a club like this comes calling, you can\u2019t turn it down, and I can\u2019t wait to get into it.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love his (Rub\u00e9n Sell\u00e9s) style of play, it is exactly what I stand for as a player. I just want to get to the goal as quick as possible. I have got a really good relationship with the gaffer and the staff, so I can\u2019t wait to get into training now.\u201d<\/p>\n
