Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has confirmed he will join the Reds’ pre-season tour after missing their flight to the United States on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The former Leicester City centre-back came on at half-time in the 0-0 draw with Leeds United on Saturday. Maguire<\/a> was then replaced by Tyler Fredricson later in the second half.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday afternoon, news emerged that the 32-year-old would not join his teammates on their flight to the US<\/a>. The Reds are flying to Chicago to take part in the Premier League<\/a> summer series, which includes games against West Ham, Bournemouth, and Everton.<\/p>\n

And Maguire has allayed any concerns over his absence by releasing a statement on his Instagram stories<\/p>\n

“All is fine now,” he said. “I will be travelling tomorrow (Wednesday) to meet up with the squad. Thanks for your concern.”<\/p>\n

Looking ahead to the tour stateside, Reds boss Amorim was asked what he was looking forward to about their trip to North America.<\/p>\n

“[Meeting fans] it [was] the same in the last tour,” he said. “We feel that they [the fans] deserve more in every aspect so we are going to give.<\/p>\n

“I think it is our responsibility to interact with our fans and we have that in our group.<\/p>\n

“We are going to do that. And also in that department, we are going to be closer, [that\u2019s] what Manchester United<\/a> should be.”<\/p>\n

Amorim’s men will be looking to reach full fitness ahead of a daunting Premier League opener at home to Arsenal on August 17. United also face tough league fixtures against Manchester City<\/a> and Chelsea<\/a> in the opening two months of 2025\/26.<\/p>\n
