Without European football<\/a> in 2025\/26, Manchester United need to have a smaller squad<\/a> for the upcoming season.<\/p>\n

Work has already begun on trimming the squad, with several loan deals agreed. Last season United sent 18 players out on loan deals<\/a>, and this year\u2019s total could be even higher.<\/p>\n

Former United defender Jonny Evans<\/a> is playing a central role. Following his retirement, Evans has been appointed<\/a> as the club\u2019s \u2018loan manager\u2019, replacing Les Parry.<\/p>\n

He was backed by technical director Jason Wilcox<\/a>, who said: \u201cHaving just finished his exceptional playing career, Jonny is the perfect role model for our young players.<\/p>\n

Manchester United signed Enzo Kana-Biyik<\/a> from French side Le Havre, and immediately sent him out on loan to Ineos-owned club Lausanne.<\/p>\n

Kana-Biyik, 18<\/a>, is a young striker praised for his \u2018powerful and technical\u2019 abilities<\/a>, who has a chance to develop in Switzerland and make a name for himself.<\/p>\n

Sonny Aljofree<\/p>\n

Centre-back Sonny Aljofree<\/a>, 20, is continuing his development on loan at League Two side Notts County.<\/p>\n

He spent last season on loan at Accrington Stanley, where he played 25 games and scored three goals.<\/p>\n

Habeeb Ogunneye<\/a>, 19, has landed the first loan of his career, joining League Two club Newport County.<\/p>\n

Right-back Ogunneye featured in first team squads under Erik ten Hag but did not make his debut, and now he will get a first taste of professional football.<\/p>\n

Dan Gore<\/a>, 20, is hoping it will be third time lucky with his latest loan move, after his first two spells were ruined by injury.<\/p>\n

The FA Youth Cup winner<\/a> has returned to League One side Rotherham United, scene of his second loan. This is the first time Gore has agreed a full-season loan, with his two previous deals coming in the winter window.<\/p>\n

Joe Hugill<\/a> has signed on loan for newly promoted League Two side Barnet. He has previously had spells at Altrincham, Burton Albion, Wigan Athletic and Carlisle United.<\/p>\n

Hugill, 21, says he hopes his previous experiences will benefit him at Barnet, where his manager compared him to a combination of Michael Owen and Jamie Vardy<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Goalkeeper Elyh Harrison<\/a> has secured a loan move to League Two side Shrewsbury Town. It follows a loan to National League side Chester last season.<\/p>\n

Harrison, 19, is highly rated and he is following the same path as Dean Henderson<\/a>, who also had a loan spell at Shrewsbury.<\/p>\n

Former first team star Marcus Rashford<\/a> has signed on loan with Barcelona for the 2025\/26 season.<\/p>\n

Barcelona are paying Rashford\u2019s entire salary, saving United \u00a38.6 million per year<\/a>.
