She was <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/royals\/all-about-british-royal-family\/\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">connected to the royal family<\/a> through her grandfather, Edmund Roche, 5th Baron Fermoy, who was <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/tag\/princess-diana\/\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Princess Diana<\/a>&#8216;s uncle. She was the granddaughter of Princess Diana&#8217;s uncle Edmund Roche, 5th Baron Fermoy, who died in 1984 of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, per <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/1984\/08\/20\/obituaries\/lord-fermoy-shoots-himself-uncle-of-princess-of-wales.html\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"externalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The New York Times<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_14-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> Roche&#8217;s grandfather had four children, including her father, the Honourable Edmund Hugh Burke Roche. He married Phillipa Katie Victoria Long in 2004, and they welcomed three children. They added, \u201cOur thoughts are with her family. We would ask that their privacy is respected at this terrible time.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_28-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> Roche&#8217;s mother and sister reportedly found her deceased at their home in Norton, Wiltshire, on July 14. The two allegedly checked in on her after she began packing for a vacation with her friends.
