Mehdi Taremi has emerged as a striker target for Leeds United.<\/strong><\/p>\n Mateo Joseph and Patrick Bamford both seem to be on their way out<\/a> of Elland Road this summer, after the former handed in a transfer request, and the latter was informed by Daniel Farke that he is no longer in his plans.<\/p>\n Leeds<\/a> needed to sign a striker before those developments, and the need for that has only been amplified over the last few days.<\/p>\n Taremi<\/a>, 33, had several successful seasons at Porto before making a move to Inter, which has not gone to plan, and an exit could already be on the cards this summer.<\/p>\n The Whites have made no secret of their desire to sign a new striker this summer, though with links to Rodrigo Muniz<\/a>, Taremi would be a shock target.<\/p>\n At 33 years old, Taremi wouldn\u2019t necessarily match the profile of a typical Leeds target, though his record in Portugal will spark intrigue.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n In 182 games for Porto, Taremi scored 92 and assisted a further 56, though he has struggled since making the move to Serie A, with a report from La Gazzetta dello Sport (23 July, pg 4) claiming that he could be on the move again.<\/p>\n Taremi\u2019s record at his last two clubs.<\/p>\n Leeds are said to have made an approach for the Iranian forward, who earns \u00a350,000 a week in Italy, or \u00a32.6million per year.<\/p>\n Porto are keen on a reunion, but the finances involved could prevent that from happening, with several other teams monitoring the situation.<\/p>\n Farke<\/a> will be fully aware of the need for Leeds to recruit a striker this summer if they are to have any chance of staying in the Premier League.<\/p>\n Joel Piroe scored the goals in the Championship<\/a>, but there are doubts as to whether he could replicate that in the Premier League.<\/p>\n With the season underway in less than a month, those attempts certainly need to be accelerated.<\/p>\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/patrick-bamford-leeds-united-1024x576.png\")
