UKTV has confirmed the role will close following Watsham\u2019s exit in September.<\/p>\n<p>Chief programming officer North will take up the newly created role of chief content officer, overseeing content strategy and assuming oversight of UKTV\u2019s content pipeline which spans original commissions and acquisitions as well as setting the overall content investment strategy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"picture\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Steve North UKTV pic\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/1455828_stevenorthuktvpic_426144.jpg\"  loading=\"lazy\" class=\"lazyloaded\" width=\"586\" height=\"387\"\/><\/p>\n<p>He will continue covering existing duties such as viewing performance of UKTV\u2019s channel brands and streaming service U \u2013 where he manages editorial direction and programming \u2013 as well as being editorial lead for the combined BBC Studios and UKTV global compliance teams.<\/p>\n<p>North takes on management of the acquisitions team from Watsham, and reports into chief exec Marcus Arthur.<\/p>\n<p>In her role, Rosen takes up creative leadership of all UKTV original commissioning across its channels, services and brands.<\/p>\n<p>Reporting into North, she retains her title as director of commissioning and UKTV\u2019s production management team will also become part of Rosen\u2019s purview.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSteve and Hilary have already played a huge role in driving UKTV\u2019s success within their existing remits, and with Richard\u2019s decision to step down, I saw an opportunity to further leverage their influence,\u201d said Arthur.<\/p>\n<p class=\"picture\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Hilary Rosen Headshot2\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/1455829_hilaryrosenheadshot2_142208.jpg\"  loading=\"lazy\" class=\"lazyloaded\" width=\"2508\" height=\"1672\"\/><\/p>\n<p>He added that their new responsibilities will \u201cposition them perfectly to drive UKTV to further growth through their combined strategic and creative leadership\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Rosen said: \u201cOur commissioned content delivers ever increasing impact, and as I step in to this expanded role, I\u2019m excited to spearhead relations with our much-valued producers and partners, old and new.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI look forward to continuing to work with my outstanding team to drive positive change across the industry, championing the values of diversity, inclusion, sustainability and wellbeing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>North added: \u201cUKTV is in such an exciting place right now so what a great time to be taking on the responsibility of leading our entire content strategy and pipeline.
