Claire Foy’s drama Women Talking<\/a> has found itself a new UK streaming home.<\/p>\n

The 2022 movie is now available to stream on BBC iPlayer after airing on BBC Two last night. As is common with films on the BBC, it’s only for a limited time though (with 29 days left at the time of writing).<\/p>\n

The film follows a group of women in an isolated religious colony who make a sickening discovery about how they’ve been treated by the men.<\/p>\n

They are faced with a choice: do they run away and try and forgot, or stay and fight to stop it happening to anyone else?<\/p>\n

Alongside The Crown<\/a> star Foy, the film also features Wicked Little Letters<\/a>‘ Jessie Buckley, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo<\/a>‘s Rooney Mara, James Bond<\/a>‘s Ben Whishaw, New Amsterdam<\/a>‘s Judith Ivey, and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri<\/a>‘s Frances McDormand.<\/p>\n

Women Talking has an excellent 90% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes<\/a> from 299 reviews, with the consensus being that the cast deliver some incredible performances.<\/p>\n

“It is compelling, gripping, powerful, as tense as a thriller,” wrote The Spectator<\/a>, while Empire<\/a> stated: “A remarkable ensemble of performers unite for this combustible, timely chamber-piece that hails the return of [director Sarah] Polley as an ambitious and empirical filmmaker.”<\/p>\n

“The result is just a little stagey and verbose, telling rather than showing the rage and the fear, it is also a calm and focused way of addressing ethical issues,” noted The Guardian<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar<\/a>, Foy said of the project: “This is the job I\u2019ve always been waiting for \u2014 without realising I\u2019ve been waiting for it. <\/p>\n

“And if I\u2019ve been waiting for it, as an actor, surely to God, there are women out there, or young girls, and men, who are waiting to see this actually be realised: this kind of story not being marginalised and not made to feel small.”<\/p>\n
