{"id":28626,"date":"2025-04-17T22:23:35","date_gmt":"2025-04-17T22:23:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/28626\/"},"modified":"2025-04-17T22:23:35","modified_gmt":"2025-04-17T22:23:35","slug":"viral-restaurant-company-big-mamma-group-is-launching-a-new-london-restaurant-in-canary-wharf","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/28626\/","title":{"rendered":"Viral Restaurant Company Big Mamma Group is Launching a New London Restaurant in Canary Wharf"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>All\u2019s been a bit quiet on the Big Mamma Group front in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">London<\/a> for a while.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The European restaurant group known for\u00a0its lavish mega-trattorias have been busy opening up\u00a0its first UK spots outside the capital, with spots in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/uk\/news\/big-mamma-opening-first-uk-restaurant-outside-of-london-090524\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Birmingham<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/uk\/news\/viral-restaurant-group-big-mamma-is-opening-its-first-restaurant-in-northern-england-030525\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Manchester<\/a>. But now Big Mamma is returning to London for the company\u2019s\u00a0first new restaurant launch in the city since <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/london\/restaurants\/carlotta\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Carlotta<\/a> opened two years ago.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Barbarella will open this June in Canary Wharf. In-keeping with the group\u2019s ultra camp styling,\u00a0the waterside spot will be inspired by 1970s Italian cinema and be just as outrageous as the other Big Mamma\u00a0restaurants\u00a0in London; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/london\/restaurants\/gloria\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gloria<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/london\/restaurants\/carlotta\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Carlotta<\/a>, Circolo Popolare, Ave Mario and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/london\/restaurants\/jacuzzi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jacuzzi<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Expect a mirrored glass bar, a chrome lounge, and a jungle theme. When it comes to food, the kitchen is headed up by Roma-born chef Marco Rastelli. There\u2019ll be thin and crispy Ruota di Carretto pizzas, as well as stunty fresh pasta, such as a one-metre long spaghettone. You\u2019ll be able to order from a dedicated gelati menu on the terrace and there will also be the biggest-ever cocktail menu from any Big Mamma restaurant yet.
