{"id":286347,"date":"2025-07-23T22:42:12","date_gmt":"2025-07-23T22:42:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/286347\/"},"modified":"2025-07-23T22:42:12","modified_gmt":"2025-07-23T22:42:12","slug":"china-tariff-deadline-can-be-rolled-forward-90-days-us-treasury-chief","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/286347\/","title":{"rendered":"China tariff deadline can be rolled forward 90 days: US Treasury chief"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WASHINGTON:\u00a0A deadline for tariffs between the United States and China to snap back to higher levels could be extended in a &#8220;90-day increment&#8221;, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said on Wednesday (Jul 23), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.channelnewsasia.com\/east-asia\/china-seeks-strengthen-cooperation-trade-talks-us-5253906\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ahead of trade talks next week<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Top officials from the world&#8217;s two biggest economies are set to meet in Sweden on Monday and Tuesday, with Bessent in the US delegation and Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng attending the talks.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re in a very good place with China now,&#8221; Bessent told Bloomberg Television on Wednesday.
