BBC<\/a> Radio Wales host and producer Lynda Shahwan lost her life in the incident while away with her husband Sharif and their two sons.<\/p>\nHaving worked for the station for 25 years, the Cardiff native was one of the BBC Radio Wales\u2019 most beloved personalities.<\/p>\n
The 53-year-old mother created Terry Walton\u2019s Plotcast, also co-presenting the podcast about a Rhondda hillside\u2019s garden life.<\/p>\n
Paying his respects to his colleague, Terry said: \u201cWe pass our sympathies on to Lynda\u2019s husband Sharif, their two sons and all of the family on the tragic and sudden taking of Lynda from us far too soon.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy last two years of working with Lynda on the Plotcast were the most fulfilling and cherished broadcasting I have done.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur chemistry and her creative talent made every episode a gem of gardening knowledge. Her professionalism and easy going manner made every recording a pleasure and brought the best out of us both.”<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cWe became true friends and after recording we would both relax and discuss many aspects of life.\u201d<\/p>\n
Head of Radio Wales Carolyn Hitt branded Lynda a \u2018very special person\u2019, crediting the hard work she did for nearly three decades on the station.<\/p>\n
She said: \u201cSince she began her career with Radio Wales in 1999 she made a brilliant impact on the station, on and off air, working across almost all of our output.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor several years, Lynda was Roy Noble’s fellow presenter on his morning show, where he affectionately christened her ‘The Lily from Caerphilly’.<\/p>\n
\u201cMore recently, Lynda was back in front of the mic once more, this time with Terry Walton, co-presenting and producing her fantastic passion project the Plotcast – just one of the many examples of her creativity and innovation.\u201d<\/p>\n
Carolyn continued: \u201cWe are all devastated at Radio Wales at the sudden loss of our much-loved colleague and friend and our hearts go out to Lynda’s husband Sharif – who is also a much-loved colleague – their two sons and all their family and friends.\u201d<\/p>\n
Joining in on those paying their respects, BBC star Roy Noble stated: \u201cOur feelings of condolence go to Lynda’s family, Sharif and the boys.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was a sudden, sudden loss to them and something we in Radio Wales cannot process.
