James Milner was the last player to play for both Liverpool and Leeds United in the Premier League.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The two clubs haven\u2019t directly been involved in a transfer of a first-team player for over a decade, and that is unlikely to change in this window. <\/p>\n

Liverpool<\/a> have done most of their business already, while no Reds player has been strongly linked with a move to Elland Road either.<\/p>\n

However, the reigning Premier League<\/a> champions have an interest in a player who left Leeds United just 12 months ago.<\/p>\n

Liverpool are keeping an eye on Charlie Cresswell<\/p>\n

Charlie Cresswell<\/a> came through the ranks at the Leeds United academy and made 14 senior appearances for the club.<\/p>\n

The defender was highly rated behind the scenes at Elland Road, with manager Daniel Farke even branding Cresswell as a \u2018top-class player\u2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However, in the summer of 2024, just over 12 months ago, Cresswell left Leeds United and joined French side Toulouse.<\/p>\n

The 22-year-old has impressed in Ligue 1, so much so that he has made his way onto Liverpool\u2019s radar.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

GiveMeSport<\/a> claim that Arne Slot\u2019s side are keeping a \u2018close eye\u2019 on Cresswell, who is a player they \u2018very much like\u2019.<\/p>\n

Liverpool are said to be looking at options who can not only add depth but also develop at Anfield and become regulars in the coming years.<\/p>\n

Cresswell, who Leeds United<\/a> sold for just over \u00a32.5 million, checks those boxes perfectly, but it remains to be seen if the Reds will make a move in this window or push it until next year.<\/p>\n

The defender\u2019s current contract at Toulouse does not expire until the summer of 2028.<\/p>\n

Only Arsenal conceded fewer goals than Slot\u2019s men last season, but the Reds need to be very careful about what\u2019s going to happen next. <\/p>\n

Virgil van Dijk<\/a> has signed a new contract, but he is 34 already, and there is a good chance that Ibrahima Konate will leave<\/a> the club either this summer or the next.<\/p>\n

Liverpool are right to be planning ahead, and Cresswell is a very interesting option for them.<\/p>\n
