{"id":28730,"date":"2025-04-17T23:15:09","date_gmt":"2025-04-17T23:15:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/28730\/"},"modified":"2025-04-17T23:15:09","modified_gmt":"2025-04-17T23:15:09","slug":"hon-hai-chair-touts-taiwan-as-ai-computing-base","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/28730\/","title":{"rendered":"Hon Hai chair touts Taiwan as AI computing base"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul class=\"as boxTitle boxText\" data-desc=\"\u5206\u4eab\u5217\">\n<li>\n<p>By Meryl Kao  \/  Staff Reporter<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Taiwan is an important base for the global development of artificial intelligence (AI) computing and technologies, Hon Hai Precision Industry Co (\u9d3b\u6d77\u7cbe\u5bc6) chairman Young Liu (\u5289\u63da\u5049) said yesterday at an event organized by the Chinese National Federation of Industries (\u5168\u570b\u5de5\u696d\u7e3d\u6703) in Taipei.<\/p>\n<p>Taiwanese contract manufacturers accounted for 90 percent of the global AI server market, whereas Hon Hai, also known as Foxconn Technology Group (\u5bcc\u58eb\u5eb7\u79d1\u6280\u96c6\u5718), supplied at least 40 percent of the market to meet global demand for AI computing, Liu said.<\/p>\n<p>Hon Hai\u2019s AI product lineups cover graphics processing units, servers, and full system assembly and liquid-cooling solutions, he said.<\/p>\n<p>                        <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/P09-250418-001.jpg\" width=\"100%\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Photo: Fang Pin-chao, Taipei Times<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne of the biggest advantages of Taiwan\u2019s technology industry is its comprehensive supply chain, in which manufacturers can reach one another within one-and-a-half hours,\u201d he said. \u201cOther countries might have similar supply chains, but their factories are scattered across much larger regions than Taiwan.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The US$500 billion Stargate Project, backed by OpenAI, Softbank Group Corp and Oracle Corp to build AI infrastructure in the US by 2029, coupled with other AI investments by global tech giants, presents a significant opportunity for Taiwan, Liu said, adding that he is confident in Taiwan\u2019s prowess in AI sector.<\/p>\n<p>Hon Hai\u2019s development plans for the AI sector is comprised of four aspects: vertical integration of hardware and software, building AI data center industry chains, applying AI systems to corporate governance, and building generative-AI platforms for manufacturing, vehicles and cities, Liu said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have discussed with many countries the issue of building AI data centers and related supply chains, and have talked with Minister of Economic Affairs J.W.
