Now, Bigscreen says its recently announced Beyond 2 PC VR headset will not see a price increase as a result.<\/p>\n<p>Bigscreen released <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/BigscreenVR\/status\/1911149961875739039\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a statement on X<\/a>\u00a0wherein the company maintains its Beyond 2 headset, priced at\u00a0$1,019, isn\u2019t getting a price bump despite increased tariffs applied to many goods manufactured in China.<\/p>\n<p>According to Bigscreen, the company sources Beyond 2 components and assemblies from a variety of regions, including China, Japan and Europe. While \u201csignificant final assembly and testing\u201d take place at its Los Angeles-based factory, many of the most expensive components and assemblies are made outside the US, which have \u201cdramatically increased [\u2026] costs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe expect to absorb all costs of the tariffs, trade war, and supply chain disruptions. We will not be increasing prices in any form for the foreseeable future,\u201d Bigscreen says. \u201cCustomers will not pay any further shipping fees, tariffs, import duties, taxes, or VAT,\u201d the company adds, noting that the final checkout amount includes no hidden fees.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/bigscreen-beyond-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazy lazy-hidden size-full wp-image-122674\" data-lazy-type=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/bigscreen-beyond-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\"  \/><\/a>Bigscreen Beyond 2 | Image courtesy Bigscreen<\/p>\n<p>While the company says it \u201cexpected this may happen long before we announced Bigscreen Beyond 2,\u201d the <a href=\"https:\/\/hts.usitc.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">United States\u2019 Harmonized Tariff Schedule<\/a> is still evolving.<\/p>\n<p>President Trump issued an executive order last week<a href=\"https:\/\/content.govdelivery.com\/accounts\/USDHSCBP\/bulletins\/3db9e55\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> exempting many electronics<\/a>, such as smartphones, monitors, and laptops, from the combined 145% reciprocal tariff rate.<\/p>\n<p>Although not specifically named, VR headsets are expected benefit from the exemption, as\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.uploadvr.com\/trump-exempts-electronics-from-tarrifs-including-vr-headsets\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UploadVR\u00a0<\/a>notes, however these devices will still be subject to a 20% tariff which was put in place in March 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to the exemption, Shanghai-based PC VR headset creator Pimax was the first to address tariffs with the announcement it would\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.roadtovr.com\/pimax-trade-war-price-hike-crystal-super\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">offload some of the pressure to its \u2018Pimax Prime\u2019 software subscription<\/a>, keeping the final \u2018all-in\u2019 price of flagship Crystal Super at parity to the same ~$1,690 pre-tariff pricing, albeit with the inclusion of a $95\u00a0US-only surcharge.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Wide sweeping tariffs levied by US President Donald Trump have led to uncertainty in just how the XR&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":28735,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[3162],"tags":[53,16,15,3243,3244],"class_list":{"0":"post-28734","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-virtual-reality","8":"tag-technology","9":"tag-uk","10":"tag-united-kingdom","11":"tag-virtual-reality","12":"tag-vr"},"share_on_mastodon":{"url":"https:\/\/pubeurope.com\/@uk\/114355859916983543","error":""},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/28734","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=28734"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/28734\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/28735"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=28734"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=28734"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=28734"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
