New poll reveals answer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nowtolove.com.au\/celebrity\/facts-you-didnt-know-about-queen-elizabeth-19784\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Queen Elizabeth<\/a> is Australia\u2019s most popular royal from the past 25 years, according to a new poll.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.news.com.au\/entertainment\/celebrity-life\/royals\/who-is-the-best-royal-of-the-21st-century-and-where-do-we-begin-with-harry\/news-story\/39b900806df1c4969f0ab46c2c226437\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">News.com.au<\/a> conducted the poll and asked everyday Australians to vote for their favourite royal out of the late Queen, her late husband Philip, King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William, Princess Kate, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.<\/p>\n<p>Queen Elizabeth II won the poll by a landslide. <\/p>\n<p>The monarch, who died in 2022 at the age of 96, spent the last years of her life shaking off the \u201ccold fish\u201d reputation she earned in the wake of Princess Diana\u2019s death in 1997. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nowtolove.com.au\/royals\/kate-middleton-natasha-archer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Kate Middleton<\/a> joining the royal family in 2011, when she married Prince William, began to warm the public\u2019s perception of the royal family once more.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"1430\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1296463 perfmatters-lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/royals-3-68819885c1697.jpg\"  data-\/>(Credit: Instagram)<\/p>\n<p>Then in 2012, the Queen warmed even the most anti-royal of hearts when she met 007 and then skydived into the London Olympic opening ceremony. As the years went on, the Queen became a beloved figure once more as she demonstrated her commitment to her duties, her unexpected cheeky sense of humour and her love for her pet <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nowtolove.com.au\/royals\/king-charles-andrew-battle-corgis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Corgis.<\/a> <\/p>\n<p>Kate Middleton was voted as Australia\u2019s second favourite member of the royal family. <\/p>\n<p>The 43-year-old won over hearts when she married the Prince and gave birth to their three children \u2014  Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10 and Prince Louis, 7. <\/p>\n<p>She further embedded herself as a much loved member of Britain\u2019s most high profile family when she started experimenting with her wardrobe, with the help of her long-time assistant, Natasha Archer. Tash, as she\u2019s affectionately known by the royal family, helped Kate transition from more traditional coat suits to modern suiting, which has been dubbed as the \u201cKate Middleton effect\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInitially Kate was a reluctant fashion icon, but now she enjoys it. Tash helps source some of the clothes,\u201d an insider told\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanityfair.com\/style\/2014\/10\/kate-middleton-stylist-natasha-archer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Vanity Fair<\/a>\u00a0in a 2014 interview. \u201cShe shops a lot for Kate online, and calls in hundreds of dresses for Kate to try on. She has persuaded Kate to take some more risks. The hemlines are shorter and Kate\u2019s really pushing the boat out in the fashion stakes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"1001\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1296521 perfmatters-lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/ntl-horizontal-2025-07-24t140740.846-6881b19523ad1.jpg\"  data-\/>(Credit: Getty)<\/p>\n<p>The public\u2019s love for Kate only deepened when she announced she was undergoing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nowtolove.com.au\/royals\/kate-middleton-cancer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">treatment for cancer<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In January this year, the mum-of-three announced she was in remission but her return to normal royal duties would be gradual.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019re not necessarily under the clinical team any longer, but you\u2019re not able to function normally at home as you perhaps once used to,\u201d she said while visiting Colchester Hospital in Essex at the beginning of July. \u201cAnd actually, someone to help talk you through that, show you, and guide you through that sort of phase that comes after treatment, I think is really valuable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou have to find your new normal and that takes time\u2026 and it\u2019s a roller coaster, it\u2019s not smooth, like you expect it to be,\u201d\u00a0she continued. \u201cBut the reality is you go through hard times.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nowtolove.com.au\/author\/f_kdonnellyaremedia-com-au\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Profile picture of Keryn Donnelly\" class=\"avatar avatar-128 photo perfmatters-lazy\" height=\"128\" width=\"128\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/d87a1bf85621974eb1d9a938baac45782608f96e27e7ceaacdb2968f2bad6af1\" \/>\t\t\t\t\t<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Queen Elizabeth is Australia\u2019s most popular royal from the past 25 years, according to a new poll.
