Rangers are basking in the glory of another stunning European win \u2013 but Celtic<\/a> supporters reckon they\u2019ve heard it all before.<\/p>\n

There is renewed optimism at Ibrox despite some punters grumbles at the start of the summer and the Light Blues are keen to highlight the continental success.<\/p>\n

Alan Flett, via email,<\/strong> said: \u201cWhen are Celtic fans going to realise that it’s them who are European minnows? If they start beating top sides and reaching the knockout rounds on a regular basis, we might just give them some respect.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey haven’t won a knockout tie for over 20 years and were the first team to be kicked out of all three competitions in the same season.<\/p>\n

“Yet they have the brass neck to criticise Rangers for one poor Champions League<\/a> campaign.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor the last few years, Rangers<\/a> have single handedly carried Scotland in Europe, Celtic fans need to remember that fact.\u201d<\/p>\n

Not so fast, say Hoops supporters. Gers have one foot in the next stage of the Champions League qualifiers after the first leg win against Panathinaikos.<\/p>\n

But Glen Mitchell <\/strong>emailed: \u201cGoodness me, reading some of the pro Ibrox comments about a very lucky win against a team that finished just as far back in the Greek league, that the Ibrox team did in Scotland.<\/p>\n

\u201cSeveral clear chances for the Greeks spurned, hit the woodwork, Jack Butland on form for a change, 50 minutes of only one winner, then a deflected strike, a sending off, and a good strike later.<\/p>\n

“It was a very fortunate win and now they are world beaters yet again. I don\u2019t think there will be the same bravado next week.\u201d<\/p>\n

Scott McAdam, Glasgow, <\/strong>said: \u201cI did say Rangers would get a result in Europe. But not that easy.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow we await the drivel from the mouths of the armchair glory hunters that they are ready to dominate Scottish football and win the Champions League.<\/p>\n

“That\u2019s a few bottles of gas for a blowtorch for these brass necks who haven’t a Scooby Doo where Ibrox even is.\u201d<\/p>\n

Celtic are in action against Ajax tonight and although boss Brendan Rodgers<\/a> has admitted he needs more firepower, supporters are still convinced it will be business as usual this season.<\/p>\n

Bud Hay, Dumfries,<\/strong> said: \u201cHere we go the other mob bragging they\u2019re going to do this and going to do that. It won’t be long until they are knocked off their perch and booing their players off.
