Prince Andrew has been given a “reminder” by King Charles that his position in the Royal Family<\/a> remains unaffected by recent “events”, according to an expert. The Duke of York has reportedly been feeling “chipper”, according to the Daily Mail, following the White House’s recent announcement<\/a> that the disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein<\/a> didn’t keep a list of clients.<\/p>\n

Epstein, who was a convicted sex offender, passed away in his New York<\/a> prison cell in 2019 while awaiting trial on charges of sex trafficking, to which he had entered a plea of not guilty.<\/p>\n

A New York court was due to disclose a list of individuals purportedly linked to the financier<\/a> in 2024, but this month, the US Department of Justice and FBI concluded that no such list existed.<\/a><\/p>\n

The US authorities also announced that Epstein took his own life, refuting any conspiracy theories<\/a> suggesting otherwise. In the meantime, Andrew, who is said to have been an acquaintance of Epstein, is experiencing renewed “anxiety”.<\/p>\n

A “mole” speaking to Ephraim Hardcastle of the Mail suggests that Andrew had been “feeling chipper” after hearing the news and learning that the FBI had closed its inquiries, yet a new twist may have been introduced by US President Donald Trump<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He writes: “As the king returns to Scotland<\/a> for his summer break, my mole reports Prince Andrew is still on the guest list for a Balmoral holiday.<\/p>\n

“But, with Trump’s second thoughts about releasing documents, Andrew’s anxiety continues. It hasn’t helped that he has received a reminder from the King that events don’t allow him to return to royal duty. Is there no redemption for the disgraced duke?”<\/p>\n

In August 2024, reports surfaced that Andrew <\/a>had become somewhat reclusive during the highly publicised row between himself and the King regarding his tenancy at Royal Lodge.<\/p>\n

However, this isn’t the sole controversy surrounding the embattled Duke, who withdrew from royal <\/a>duties in 2019 after his infamous car-crash BBC<\/a> Newsnight interview with Emily Maitlis.<\/p>\n

Queen Elizabeth II removed Andrew’s military <\/a>honours and Royal patronages in 2022; he stopped using the HRH (His Royal Highness) title, and his positions, including Colonel of the Grenadier Guards, were redistributed to other family members.<\/p>\n

In 2024, Andrew once again dominated headlines due to an investigation concerning an alleged Chinese operative known as ‘H6’, who reportedly developed an “unusual degree of trust” with him, according to UK officials.<\/p>\n

H6 was Yang Tengbo, a 50-year-old businessman who requested that his anonymity be dismissed and claimed that the accusations of espionage were “entirely untrue”. Andrew said that he had “ceased all contact” with Mr Yang, with his office claiming there was “nothing of a sensitive nature ever discussed”.<\/p>\n

Chris Patten, the last governor of Hong Kong before its handover to China<\/a>, has hinted that Prince Andrew might have been ensnared by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) operatives.<\/p>\n
