Hollyoaks<\/a> is set to revisit a groundbreaking couple from the soap’s past as John Paul McQueen<\/a> and Jez Blake’s<\/a> wedding takes a deadly turn.<\/p>\n

John Paul was left with cold feet after Jez’s outburst on Monday, which made John Paul realise he didn’t really know his fianc\u00e9e at all, and maybe didn’t love him.<\/p>\n

At the same time, Jez questioned Bobby Costello<\/a> over his presence at the allotment, who admitted he was searching for evidence that would clear him of the murder of social worker Ian Stone.<\/p>\n

Jez, who killed Ian himself<\/a>, joins forces with Bobby to pin the murder on the late Dilly Harcourt<\/a>, and says if Bobby does the dirty work, Jez will leave the village for good.<\/p>\n

When it comes to the couple’s big day, despite both Jez and Martha Blake<\/a> urging John Paul to go through with the wedding, he calls it off<\/a> after realising Jez had lifted his vows from a Mark Twain poem.<\/p>\n

Mercedes McQueen<\/a> berated Jez in front of their guests, with him secretly promising to make her pay for her actions.<\/p>\n

And that he does, when he makes her son Bobby his latest victim<\/a> despite the pair working together to clear him of Ian’s murder.<\/p>\n

John Paul is also in a spiral following their breakup, relapsing in his sobriety, much to the despair of Mercedes and Tony Hutchinson<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Upcoming episodes will also see him fall into the arms of a former lover, Ste Hay, while he navigates a broken heart.<\/p>\n

John Paul and Ste tied the knot in Hollyoaks in 2014<\/a>, making their nuptials the first same-sex marriage shown in the Channel 4 soap<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The couple called time on their relationship just a year later<\/a>, after problems between them built up, becoming too much to bear when Sinead O’Connor gave birth to Ste’s baby.<\/p>\n

In upcoming scenes, Ste takes Dillon Ray<\/a> to a recovery meeting and finds John Paul spiralling, who confesses his guilt over his relationship breaking down.<\/p>\n

Ste offers John Paul comfort, but the latter misreads the moment and tries to kiss him. How will Ste react to the move from his ex-husband? <\/p>\n

Hollyoaks<\/strong> airs on Mondays-Wednesdays with its <\/strong>Channel 4 streaming<\/strong><\/a> premiere at 7am, then an E4 broadcast the same night at 7pm. Full episodes are also released on YouTube a week after their <\/strong>Channel 4 release.<\/strong><\/p>\n
