{"id":288569,"date":"2025-07-24T18:32:18","date_gmt":"2025-07-24T18:32:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/288569\/"},"modified":"2025-07-24T18:32:18","modified_gmt":"2025-07-24T18:32:18","slug":"new-poetry-trail-opens-along-north-somerset-coastline","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/288569\/","title":{"rendered":"New poetry trail opens along North Somerset coastline"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n  The trail features 11 poetry plaques, including two in National Trust coastal areas.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The plaques showcase poems from The Poetry Field, a new book by local author Anthony Keyes.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The collection covers a variety of themes, including specific locations, historical narratives, sport, and the seaside.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Mr Keyes shared that his work is deeply influenced by a range of sounds and emotions.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  To find out more information about the book, or to purchase a copy, visit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thewestonmercury.co.uk\/news\/25334406.new-poetry-trail-opens-along-north-somerset-coastline\/austinmacauley.com\/book\/the-poetry-field\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">austinmacauley.com\/book\/the-poetry-field<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The trail was inaugurated in the Weston-super-Mare town square by the town&#8217;s mayor, Cllr Martin Williams, and Cllr Mike Solomon,\u00a0North Somerset Council\u2019s cabinet member for culture, leisure and open spaces.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  A spokesperson for Mr Keyes said: &#8220;The North Somerset Poetry Trail is a wonderful showcase of Anthony&#8217;s work, and we hope everyone enjoys the trail and visiting the locations where the poems have been inspired by.&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  They continued: &#8220;The trail also offers a way to explore more of the North Somerset coastline and enjoy some lesser-known spots.&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The poetry trail was devised by Mr Keyes, who was inspired by his love for the area.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  It is available to explore via the Go Jauntly app.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The trail features 11 poetry plaques, including two in National Trust coastal areas.
