{"id":288834,"date":"2025-07-24T20:49:39","date_gmt":"2025-07-24T20:49:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/288834\/"},"modified":"2025-07-24T20:49:39","modified_gmt":"2025-07-24T20:49:39","slug":"when-will-whitehavens-new-mental-health-facility-open","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/288834\/","title":{"rendered":"When will Whitehaven&#8217;s new mental health facility open?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n  Members of Cumberland Council\u2019s health overview and scrutiny committee were given an update from\u00a0Cumbria, Northumbria, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust at\u00a0Allerdale House in Workington on Thursday (July 17).\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Ramona Duguid, the trust\u2019s chief operating officer, told members extensive arrangements were in place at Hope Haven, in Whitehaven, and it was hoped that\u00a0the main building fully open and operational by September or October at the latest.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  She said that recovery and well-being drop-in sessions had been established and added that they had a \u201chuge impact on access to services\u201d.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Ms Duguid suggested that they could bring back a progress report to the committee in six to 12 months.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  James Duncan, the trust\u2019s chief executive, stressed that it was not a pilot scheme and added: \u201cThis is something that will be sustained.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The report states: \u201cBy the end of July Everyturn will be operating our Virtual Safe Haven Offer, telephone and online support.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  \u201cWe will also be going live with our \u2018team of the day\u2019 which consists of staff from each of the partners CNTW, Home Group, Everyturn, The Well, Cumbria Health and iCan along with peer support being available to support all new referrals and wrap around existing service users who require immediate crisis support.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  \u201cThe four short stay beds which will provide a robust alternative to admission will open at the beginning of August 2025.
