A man has been rushed<\/a> to hospital in Edinburgh after a gunshot was fired on Thursday afternoon.<\/p>\n

Police have locked down Hailesland Gardens in Westerhailes and a 23-year-old was taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The bullet was reportedly blasted<\/a> at around 3.40pm and remain at the scene of the residential street.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for the force said: “Around 3.40pm on Thursday, 24 July, 2025, we were called to a report of a firearm being discharged in the Hailesland Gardens area of Edinburgh.<\/p>\n

“A 23-year-old man has attended<\/a> hospital for treatment to serious but not life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n

“Officers, including<\/a> specialist firearms officers, are in attendance and extensive enquiries are ongoing.”<\/p>\n
