{"id":289559,"date":"2025-07-25T03:28:19","date_gmt":"2025-07-25T03:28:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/289559\/"},"modified":"2025-07-25T03:28:19","modified_gmt":"2025-07-25T03:28:19","slug":"facer-officially-returns-to-the-samsung-galaxy-watch-8-in-massive-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/289559\/","title":{"rendered":"Facer officially returns to the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 in massive update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>What you need to know<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Facer app has become fully compatible with Wear OS 6 as of July 24.<\/li>\n<li>The update adds Watch Face Format faces with better battery efficiency and ambient AOD modes.<\/li>\n<li>Facer&#8217;s &#8220;Rosetta Stone&#8221; dev tool allows creators to make a single watch face compatible with WFF and Apple Watches.<\/li>\n<li>The app is adding a social Looks section for users to show off custom watch styles.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Watch face apps like Facer have been locked off of Wear OS watches for some time, but with the launch of the <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.androidcentral.com\/wearables\/samsung-galaxy-watch-8\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.androidcentral.com\/wearables\/samsung-galaxy-watch-8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Galaxy Watch 8<\/a> and <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.androidcentral.com\/wearables\/samsung-galaxy-watch-8-classic-review\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.androidcentral.com\/wearables\/samsung-galaxy-watch-8-classic-review\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Watch 8 Classic<\/a> running Wear OS 6, new owners will finally be able to install custom watch faces again.<\/p>\n<p>We learned at Google I\/O in May that Wear OS 6 would <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.androidcentral.com\/apps-software\/wear-os\/wear-os-6-will-bring-facer-back-onto-android-watches\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.androidcentral.com\/apps-software\/wear-os\/wear-os-6-will-bring-facer-back-onto-android-watches\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">enable third-party watch face apps<\/a>, so that you could find them through dedicated storefronts intead of the Play Store individually.<\/p>\n<p>Now, Facer has updated its app with full <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.androidcentral.com\/wearables\/wear-os-6\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.androidcentral.com\/wearables\/wear-os-6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wear OS 6<\/a> compatibility. (Image credit: Michael Hicks \/ Android Central)<\/p>\n<p>Most of Facer&#8217;s current compatible WFF faces are paid or premium, and it&#8217;s still fairly limited compared to the hundreds of thousands of faces available for older <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.androidcentral.com\/best-wear-os-watch\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.androidcentral.com\/best-wear-os-watch\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wear OS watches<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>However, Facer Creator tool now integrates WFF into its &#8220;Rosetta Stone&#8221; system, so that any watch face made is compatible with Wear OS watches, <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.androidcentral.com\/tag\/apple\" data-auto-tag-linker=\"true\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.androidcentral.com\/tag\/apple\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Apple<\/a> Watches, and other formats.
