Sheffield United<\/a> target Daniel Gudjohnsen could be an \u2018ideal\u2019 addition for the Blades, according<\/a> to their former player Lee Hendrie.<\/p>\n

Sheffield United<\/a> have been linked with a move for the youngster this summer, as per The Sun<\/a>. SUFC are preparing for another year in the Championship<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Gudjohnsen, 19, has been on the books of Malmo since joining them in 2022. They could now face a battle to keep hold of him in this window amid attention from elsewhere.<\/p>\n

Hendrie has said, as per\u00a0Football League World<\/a>: \u201cSheffield United<\/a> are looking at Eidur Gudjohnsen\u2019s lad. Listen, I think 19 years of age, very raw, lots to learn still, and, again, I think this might be ideal with the strikers that are there he can maybe learn off and work off.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cBy all accounts, he\u2019s got lots of ability, and he comes from good stock. So I think, yes, they probably don\u2019t really need a striker, but sometimes, you know, you look at the future and you look at long-term plans of where and how some of these youngsters can sort of find their way. It might be that he has a season of dipping in and out, playing in cup competitions, and maybe going out on loan at some stage.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sheffield United<\/a>\u00a0eye Malmo attacker Daniel Gudjohnsen<\/p>\n

Sheffield United<\/a>\u00a0could see Gudjohnsen as someone to boost their attacking department. SUFC have the chance to bring in signings<\/a> over the coming weeks.<\/p>\n

The teenager has had spells at both Barcelona and Real Madrid in the past. He signed for Malmo three years ago and was initially a key player for their youth sides.<\/p>\n

Gudjohnsen has since broken into the first-team picture with the Allsvenskan club. He made 13 appearances for them in all competitions last term and chipped in with one goal and one assist.<\/p>\n

His contract expires in 2028. That means that the Swedish giants are under no pressure to cash in on him anytime soon and can wait for the right offer.<\/p>\n

What now for\u00a0Sheffield United<\/a>?<\/p>\n

Sheffield United<\/a>\u00a0are gearing up for the start of the 2025\/26 campaign. SUFC were beaten in the play-off final by\u00a0Sunderland<\/a>\u00a0in May at Wembley.<\/p>\n

The Blades subsequently decided to sack Chris Wilder. Former\u00a0Southampton<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Reading<\/a>\u00a0man Selles has been brought in<\/a> as his replacement following his dismissal by\u00a0Hull City<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Selles\u2019 side are being patient with their transfer business at the moment. Nottingham Forest centre-back Tyler Bindon has arrived on loan recently with more expected to follow. They have also acquired Louie Barry from Aston Villa on a temporary basis.<\/p>\n
