Eiran Cashin revealed the ambition of Birmingham City was the key reason for him joining the newly-promoted Championship side from Brighton. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The Irishman only joined the Seagulls in January, but with Fabian Hurzeler\u2019s side having added two centre-backs already this summer, a loan move has been seen as the best thing for Cashin\u2019s development.<\/p>\n

Given his experience with Derby, a host of clubs in the second tier were tracking the player, and it was Blues who won the race for his signature, with Cashin\u2019s arrival announced on Friday morning<\/a>.<\/p>\n

So, the move is another coup for Chris Davies\u2019 side, who have already brought the likes of Demarai Gray, Tommy Doyle and Kyogo Furuhashi to the club<\/a>.<\/p>\n

And, speaking to the club\u2019s media<\/a>, Cashin explained why he wanted to move to St. Andrew\u2019s, as he discussed the project at Birmingham<\/a>, as well as Davies\u2019 style of play.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can see in the media, everything that\u2019s going on in the club, and you can see the trajectory and the way it\u2019s going. That\u2019s something that\u2019s hard not to buy into. I know the owners, and the investment has been really good for the club, and I know the manager and his style of play, and the players that have come into the club recently have all been really positive.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt shows where the club is heading, so again it was an easy one to buy into. With everything going on and how well they (Birmingham) did last season, you\u2019d always be watching it, even if you were in the changing rooms before a game, you would see Birmingham and how they were getting on and the results, and the amount of points accumulated.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was impressive, and that\u2019s something I want to be part of this season going forward. I know it will be a lot tougher this season but I\u2019m more than willing to add my part to the group.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n

Eiran Cashin is another statement signing for Birmingham City<\/p>\n

It has been a fantastic window for Blues<\/a> so far, with the club already looking as though they have a squad that is capable of pushing for automatic promotion this season.<\/p>\n

The recruitment team deserve credit for getting their business done so early, and now it\u2019s about strengthening the squad to ensure they have the depth to deal with the Championship.<\/p>\n

Marvin Ducksch’s likely arrival at Birmingham City from Werder Bremen will give them yet another threat going forward.<\/p>\n

Whilst Phil Neumann and Christoph Klarer are quality players, they need another centre-back for numbers, and Cashin will provide excellent competition for the duo, and Davies is going to have a big decision to make on who his first-choice pairing is.<\/p>\n
