Honestly, I wasn’t expecting this to work out so easily.

Core 2 Duo is now Pebble 2 Duo. Core Time 2 is now Pebble Time 2*.

People were going to call these new watches Pebbles anyways, so I am glad that it’s official. It may take me a few cycles to stop calling it Core 2 Duo or C2D, so expect some naming/language confusion everywhere for a bit. Our company is still called Core Devices, because we make the devices that are part of your core daily life.

Notably, the second device is indeed called “Pebble Time 2*,” with the asterisk part of the name. It doesn’t mean “The New Avengers” in this case, instead being a reference to the fact that this is a different product from the original Pebble Time 2 that was announced in 2016, but never shipped.

The post goes on to discuss that some initial Duo units have been shipped to early users, while a revamped Pebble app is also on its way (and now listed in the Play Store). The tariff cost for Pebble 2 Duo units in the US has also apparently been settled at $10 extra per smartwatch. As for deliveries of smartwatches, the original July window is apparently not happening, with mass production not yet underway. The new estimate is sometime towards the end of August, with part of the delay due to an improvement to the dust/water resistance rating.

More on Pebble:

Follow Ben: Twitter/X, Threads, Bluesky, and Instagram

FTC: We use income earning auto affiliate links. More.

The “Pebble” name is officially back, as the Core 2 Duo and Core Time 2 smartwatches that were…

[3160
1685,53,16,15
0":"post-291107","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-gadgets","8":"tag-gadgets","9":"tag-technology","10":"tag-uk","11":"tag-united-kingdom
["GET
