Fans wanting to catch or rewatch “masterful” British movie Atonement<\/a> only have a few days left to watch it.<\/p>\n

The 2007 drama, which is adapted from the novel by Ian McEwan, stars Keira Knightley<\/a> and James McAvoy<\/a> alongside Saoirse Ronan<\/a> in her breakthrough role.<\/p>\n

After being added to BBC iPlayer, the period drama is set to leave the streamer in 12 days \u2013 so you’d better get in quick.<\/p>\n

Atonement centres on Briony Tallis (Ronan), who aged 13 makes a false accusation towards her sister Cecilia’s (Knightley) lover Robbie Turner (McAvoy) that has devastating lifelong consequences. We then follow the story through different time periods, including World War II.<\/p>\n

The movie drew huge acclaim, sitting at 83% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes<\/a>, with Arizona Republic<\/a> calling it a “masterful study of both the hurtful and redemptive effects of imagination”.<\/p>\n

Ronan landed her first Oscar<\/a> nomination for her performance as Briony, and has since gone on to score a further three nods over the years, while the movie itself was nominated for seven Academy Awards (winning for Best Original Score). It also took home the BAFTA<\/a> for Best Film.<\/p>\n
