It will mark the return of professional rugby league to our capital and I have no doubt it will be an emotional occasion, both for French and English fans. We will also be celebrating the 20th anniversary of our club.

“What a journey it has been for our competition and our sport since that first PSG match at Stade Charléty on a winter evening back in 1996. Today, the Dragons are an integral part of the Super League and represent an undeniable force. We have proven our perseverance and made many sacrifices over these 20 years. We have experienced magical, unforgettable moments such as Wembley in 2007 and 2018, Barcelona in 2019 and Old Trafford in 2021 and 2023.

“Paris 2026 will be another major milestone for our club, and once again, we have chosen Wigan – the greatest club of them all – to showcase the very best of our sport to the Parisian crowd. I’m confident that French rugby league will rally around this event, which we hope will be festive, vibrant and welcoming just like Catalans Dragons.”

Wigan Warriors Chairman, Professor Chris Brookes said: “I am both thrilled and delighted that our two famous Clubs will be showcasing the wonderful game of Rugby League in this mouth-watering and iconic match in Paris in June 2026.

“Many of our fans have been asking me whether this match will take place and eagerly anticipating any news. I know this announcement will be warmly welcomed and also the signal for a stampede towards the travel agents!”

Brookes added: “Confirmation of the fixture is also particularly pleasing as it cements the already exceptional relationship between our Clubs. In both Wigan and Perpignan there is a deep and strong connection between our teams, the fans and the communities we serve. This is probably because the underdog spirit over achieving against all the odds, is at the bedrock of our common values. Our good friend Bernard, Le President de Catalans, is of course the embodiment of this.

“Watching the ‘Cherry and Whites’ and the ‘Sang et Or’ strutting their stuff in Paris will be both an amazing experience for our players and fans alike, yet also a seismic statement for our game. I personally can’t wait and ‘Apportez le Match!’”

Warriors Chief Executive, Kris Radlinski said: “It’s a great honour to take our wonderful sport back to Paris. This June will mark 30 years since I had the privilege of playing in the Wigan side that narrowly defeated Paris Saint-Germain in what was a historic occasion. Now, to return with our club to this iconic city to face Catalans Dragons is another landmark moment.

“We’ve built a strong and respectful relationship with Bernard Guasch and his team, and it’s exciting to be taking that partnership further—this time at the magnificent Stade Jean-Bouin, home of Stade Français. This match represents more than just a game; it’s another chapter in Wigan’s journey to take rugby league to new audiences and iconic venues around the world. I can’t wait to share this next adventure with our loyal Wigan fans.”

Catalans Dragons captain, Benjamin Garcia said: “As Captain of the Dragons and the French national team, playing a Super League match in our capital will be a special moment. It will be a great challenge to face Wigan Warriors again in a relocated fixture. The atmosphere will be fantastic and I hope rugby league fans from all over France will come to Paris to support us. In events like this, we play not only for the Dragons, we play for our entire sport.”

Commercial Director of the Dragons, Christophe Levy said: This match in Paris is a real milestone. I believe that, as a standard-bearer for our sport, it’s important to come and play at least once in 20 years in the French capital. We have chosen Stade Jean Bouin, a proper rugby venue, beautiful and modern, located in the heart of Paris, between the Parc des Princes and Roland Garros.

“We want to show that rugby league exists, is alive and well, and knows how to rally around a unique event. I know this match has already sparked strong interest among English fans and the eyes of the rugby league world will be on Paris.
