The start of the school year is almost upon us, with college students around the globe preparing for the start of a new semester, and this year, there\u2019s a royal among their ranks. Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway<\/a>, the granddaughter of King Harald<\/a> and daughter of Crown Prince Haakon and his wife Crown Princess Mette-Marit<\/a>, revealed on the royal family\u2019s official Instagram account this week that she has moved to Australia in preparation for the start of her program at the University of Sydney.<\/p>\n

\u201cI’m looking forward to starting my studies at the University of Sydney,\u201d the princess shared in a caption on a series of photos of her in her new home. The caption continued, \u201cIt will be exciting to become a student, and I’m looking forward to gaining new perspectives on both European and international politics. I’m sure that I will learn a lot.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ingrid Alexandra, who is second in line to the throne, is carrying on something of a family tradition by studying abroad. Her grandfather, King Harald, studied at Balliol College at the University of Oxford in the UK during his student days (possibly in a nod to his family\u2019s close ties with the British royals<\/a>\u2014he was a second cousin to the late Queen Elizabeth II<\/a>) while her father, Crown Prince Haakon, matriculated at both the University of California, Berkeley, and the London School of Economics.<\/p>\n

The princess, who completed 15 months of military training with Norway\u2019s Engineer Battalion after finishing high school in 2023, will reportedly live in student housing on campus.<\/p>\n
