A dark cloud continues to hang over Sheffield Wednesday as the Owls can\u2019t escape the myriad of problems created by Dejphon Chansiri. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Unpaid player wages, failed takeover bids, no new signings, player exits, and uncertainty surrounding the future of Danny Rohl<\/a> have all contributed to their downfall this summer. <\/p>\n

The supporters have been put through a wave of problems, and for Sheffield Wednesday<\/a> to see light at the end of the tunnel, Dejphon Chansiri<\/a> needs to pack his bags and leave. <\/p>\n

The term \u2018leave\u2019 has been heavily associated with the Owls throughout the summer, as they\u2019ve witnessed several of their players exit Hillsborough after not being paid. <\/p>\n

Wednesday fans were hurt by Djeidi Gassama joining Rangers<\/a> and Josh Windass completing his move to Wrexham<\/a>, with more heartache set to follow. <\/p>\n

Although Sheffield Wednesday were boosted by Callum Paterson returning to training this week<\/a>, they also discovered that Akin Famewo was closing in on a move to Hull City<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Famewo was one of several who saw his contract expire at the end of last month, and although he was offered fresh terms by the club, the centre-back has chosen to officially leave Hillsborough after three years. <\/p>\n

The 26-year-old made 73 appearances for the Owls and was part of the Wednesday side that earned promotion via the play-offs in 2023. <\/p>\n

Now, with the defender about to embark on his next chapter, he\u2019s posted an emotional goodbye message to his former club on Instagram. <\/p>\n

\u201cI want to say a massive thank you to the staff, players and supporters,\u201d Famewo wrote. \u201cI\u2019m proud to have represented the club over the last 3 years and have loved every minute of it. I wish you all nothing but the best in the future, it\u2019s what the club deserves. <\/p>\n

\u201cThank you for your support over the years it has been outstanding. I leave with fondness and gratitude. Thank you owls.\u201d<\/p>\n

Famewo becomes the latest in a long list of summer exits from S6, leaving Sheffield Wednesday\u2019s squad thin on the ground. <\/p>\n

How many senior players Sheffield Wednesday have left<\/p>\n

Sheffield Wednesday fans were angry this week<\/a> after finding out their friendly against Mansfield on Saturday is being played behind closed doors. <\/p>\n
