Wrexham fans cannot wait for the new season to begin following a flurry of transfer activity.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Phil Parkinson<\/a> and his recruitment have gone into overdrive since returning from the pre-season tour down under with four new signings confirmed within a week.<\/p>\n

It gives Wrexham<\/a> fans real hope that they are going to be a force to be reckoned with once again this season, as they head into their first Championship<\/a> campaign in 43 years.<\/p>\n

The Red Dragons are still in the market for more additions and Wrexham\u2019s owners are prepared to spend \u00a310m on a striker<\/a>. However, EFL pundit Lee Hendrie has just urged rivals Birmingham City to make a shrewd move ahead of Wrexham.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Football League World<\/a>, Sky Sports pundit Hendrie finds it \u2018baffling\u2019 that Wrexham transfer target Jamie Vardy<\/a> is yet to find a new club following his exit from Leicester City.<\/p>\n

Wrexham have been linked with a move for Vardy<\/a> but appear to have their eyes on other players in the forward position. Hendrie is urging Birmingham City to make their move.<\/p>\n

Hendrie stated: \u201cWith the Vardy situation, it\u2019s baffling, isn\u2019t it? You listen and read what he wants to do, with talk of him wanting to stay and play in a top European side.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it would be a big signing for Birmingham City, there\u2019s no doubt, I still think he can do a job, the only problem with Jamie Vardy is he\u2019s one of those players that if he did go to Birmingham, he\u2019d want to be and have to be the main striker.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019ve got strength in depth in that area, you certainly have to look at that, but I don\u2019t think he\u2019ll be one of those players that will be dropping down to the Championship and being a bit-part player, I think he\u2019ll want to be the key player and that would be the big question mark.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe age is always another question mark but Jamie Vardy is Jamie Vardy. He\u2019s always capable of scoring goals, and it just shows where Birmingham are at with who they\u2019re attracting.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Vardy to Wrexham narrative has been building all summer, however, Parkinson\u2019s recent transfer activity shows that the England international would not be high on his list.<\/p>\n

Three-year contracts have been handed out to the likes of Lewis O\u2019Brien<\/a> and George Thomason<\/a> in the hope that they can contribute to the present and future success of the club.<\/p>\n

At 38, it would be a backward step from Wrexham to sign Vardy, given the very limited number of years he can contribute to the club at the top level.<\/p>\n
