Many accused the host of outright discrimination, with some urging Jemma to report the incident to Airbnb and even the Equality and Human Rights Commission.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  One user said: \u201cHope no one ever books with her again.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Others, including several Welsh commenters, reacted with a mix of disbelief and humour. \u201cPeople are actually insane,\u201d one wrote. \u201cTF you mean \u2018it\u2019s because you\u2019re from Wales\u2019? Babes, we\u2019re on a floating rock.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  One user added: \u201cImagine if she knew you were from Bettws too, you\u2019d have been double cancelled.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  As the clip continues to be shared widely, many online are calling for better protections against location-based discrimination on rental platforms.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  After being contacted by the South Wales Argus, an Airbnb spokesperson issued the following statement:\n<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\n    \u201cDiscrimination, including on the basis of nationality, has no place on Airbnb. As soon as this report was brought to our attention, we reached out to the guest to provide our support and suspended the host while we investigate this matter.\u201d\n  <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\n  They added that the company\u2019s Open Doors initiative provides \u201ctimely, personalised and hands-on support\u201d to anyone who feels discriminated against while using the platform.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  To use Airbnb, hosts and guests must agree to its non-discrimination policy and Community Standards, which require users to treat each other with respect.
