Fiesta Porte\u00f1a comes off a strong win in the Cl\u00e1sico Omega<\/strong> <\/strong>\/ JUAN I. BOZZELLO<\/p>\n

The fillies over middle distances promise a high-class spectacle in the Cl\u00e1sico Eudoro J. Balsa (G3-1600 m, turf), another highlight of the excellent card scheduled for this Saturday at Hip\u00f3dromo de San Isidro, serving as a warm-up for the main event, the Gran Premio 2000 Guineas (G1).<\/p>\n

With a modest winner\u2019s purse of 9.5 million pesos (of which just over 6 million will remain after deductions), Fiesta Porte\u00f1a aims to confirm the great form she has shown recently, advancing almost perfectly to the top ranks.<\/p>\n

After a solid conditional campaign, the Fortify filly trained by Enrique Mart\u00edn Ferro stepped up to graded company, finishing just three-quarters of a length behind Candlelit (Equal Stripes) in the Cl\u00e1sico General Las Heras (G3) on heavy turf, then winning the Omega (G2) by 3 1\/2 lengths, also on yielding ground.<\/p>\n

That clear-cut victory elevates her to leading contender status, although she faces several rivals to watch closely, including Candlelit, who was sixth in the Omega and now aims to bounce back, though her consistency is not her strongest trait.<\/p>\n

Stud Rubio B. and Juan Carlos Etchechoury (h.) are strongly backing Gigantograf\u00eda, undefeated in four starts, who just scored a decisive turf win over South Briole (South Kissing), also in the field this time.<\/p>\n

After some months off, Dream Serena (Forge) returned with an excellent conditional win and now hopes her late rally over the mile will make an impact, especially if the pace is fast.<\/p>\n

Elvitas (Cosmic Trigger) will add pace to the race and is also known for her ability, while Guiltless (Full Mast) recently bested Early Life (Suggestive Boy) in Palermo\u2019s Cl\u00e1sico Farnesio.<\/p>\n
