But the film did fare better on the Popcornmeter, with 74% from more than 1,000 ratings.<\/p>\n
Speaking to RadioTimes.com<\/a> about making the film, Sandler said that he’d enjoyed thinking about where life had taken all of the characters during the past three decades.<\/p>\n “We were writing the movie, me and [co-writer] Tim Herlihy, and then out of nowhere, we were like… I think we should watch the first one again!” he said, having forgotten much of what unfolded in its first outing.<\/p>\n “Kids come up to me on the street over the years, and they mention something. I’d be like, ‘What happened?’ And so we watched the movie again.
