The Clyde Tunnel has been closed in both directions this afternoon following what police have described as an “ongoing incident”.<\/p>\n

Police Scotland confirmed the alert was first raised at around 2.45pm on Saturday, July 26, 2025. As of 4pm, the busy route linking Govan and Thornwood in Glasgow\u2019s<\/a> west end remained shut.<\/p>\n

Photos from the scene show both police officers<\/a> and fire crews in attendance. Loals reports have suggested that someone has fallen from a bridge above the tunnel, but this is not confirmed by police.<\/p>\n

Officers are urging drivers to steer clear of the area while emergency services deal with the situation.<\/p>\n

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “The Clyde Tunnel is closed in both directions due to an ongoing incident that was reported around 2.45pm on Saturday, 26 July, 2025.
