Shai Hope<\/a><\/strong> scored his maiden T20I century against Australia on Friday (July 25), joining an elite list of batters.<\/p>\n West Indies were put in to bat by Australia in the third T20I between the sides in St Kitts, and the hosts were looking to hit back after losing the first two matches in Jamaica.<\/p>\n Read more: Australia all-rounder joins Ponting, Warner with T20I debut heroics v West Indies<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Skipper Shai Hope opened the batting with Brandon King, and the pair put Australia’s bowlers to the sword, scoring 66-0 in the Powerplay. They eventually put on 125 in 11.3 overs, before King was dismissed for 62 by Mitchell Owen.<\/p>\n Devoid of solid support from the other end as three batters came and went, Hope held the back half of the innings together, and reached his maiden T20I century off 55 balls, with a single in the 19th over. West Indies eventually scored 214-4, but it proved insufficient as Tim David’s belligerent century helped Australia overhaul the target with ease.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Hope now has centuries in Test cricket, ODI cricket and T20I cricket \u2013 the 27th man and 32nd player overall to do so.
