Sheffield United are in the market for a Vini Souza replacement, and Ruben Selles should use the Premier League to his advantage. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Souza was snapped up by Wolfsburg for around \u00a313 million<\/a> following his outstanding Championship<\/a> campaign, leaving Ruben Selles needing to fill a void in the middle of the park. <\/p>\n

The defensive midfielder was a ball-winning machine for Chris Wilder<\/a> last term, becoming a shield in front of the Blades\u2019 defence. <\/p>\n

The 26-year-old ultimately earned his move to the Bundesliga after also attracting Premier League interest, and Selles<\/a> is already plotting his replacement for the Brazilian. <\/p>\n

Sheffield United want to sign Djibril Soumare from SC Braga<\/a>, with Selles explaining how he\u2019d \u2018suit\u2019 their style. Yet, there is another option he should consider from England\u2019s top flight. <\/p>\n

It\u2019s less than two weeks until the 2025\/26 Championship campaign kicks off, and United will be without midfield trio Jamie Shackleton, Tom Davies and Oliver Arblaster for the start of the season. <\/p>\n

Thankfully, Selles has realised the importance of adding an extra body in the engine room to replace Souza and combat their injury troubles. <\/p>\n

While the Spaniard is keen on adding Soumare to the ranks, he should arguably look at someone who has experience in the Championship. <\/p>\n

Sheffield United should attempt to prise Tyler Morton from Liverpool after signing Louie Barry on loan from Aston Villa<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The 22-year-old isn\u2019t in Arne Slot\u2019s plans for the 2025\/26 campaign and only made five first-team appearances for the Reds last term. <\/p>\n

An excellent deep-lying playmaker but also someone who can break up play, Morton is ready to join a club permanently, or at least enjoy another loan spell. <\/p>\n

Morton has attracted Premier League interest, but Sheffield United<\/a> can offer him something they can\u2019t, and that is regular starts in midfield.<\/p>\n

So, with the pressing need to sign someone, surely Selles should look at the want-away Liverpool star.<\/p>\n

Liam Rosenior waxed lyrical over Morton at Hull City<\/p>\n

Morton has experienced two loan spells in the Championship, spending the 2022\/23 campaign at Blackburn Rovers and the 2023\/24 campaign at Hull City<\/a>. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

At Hull, the England under-21 star contributed eight goals from midfield and formed a brilliant partnership with Jean Michael Seri. <\/p>\n

During his time at the club, former manager Liam Rosenior waxed lyrical about his versatility, suggesting he can \u2018do everything\u2019 on the pitch. <\/p>\n

\u201cSome of his play, honestly. He can do everything as a midfield player,\u201d Rosenior said. \u201cWhen we were recruiting in the summer, he fits completely into the way we want to play.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe beauty with Tyler is he can play deep and he can be just as effective there, but what we\u2019ve seen in training is he can create and score goals.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was about fitting the functionality of the team around him.
